Chopin Etude op 25 no 12 January 01, 2009, 12:59:58 AM by carazymcmahon

This is my first etude, I've been working on it for a while but its still a work in progress. This is the first time I had pushed the speed past my comfort zone (can definitely tell in the development).
anything technically wrong? would it be better to play it faster to mantain the "ocean" effect or play it slower and let the melody sing more? or both? All I have to record with is a camera so I apologize for the sound quality. any feedback would be great

Help with Ocean Etude op.25 no.12 August 17, 2008, 05:09:41 PM by clara.schumann

Hello, I started recently working on the etude op.25 no.12 by Chopin. I don't really know what to do with it and how to approach this etude! I tried playing it in chords but I feel that what I'm doing is a waste of time, I don't even know if I'm supposed to work on it with both hands or not... I would be glad to hear from anyone who ever played this etude, what worked for him and where to begin, because I can't even ask my teacher (I'm on a summer vacation in the US right and when I'm back in two weeks I'm supposed to show it to her! So I'm also running out of time). Thanks in advance

Chopin Etude Op 25 no 12 Ocean July 31, 2008, 06:04:18 AM by carazymcmahon

This is definitely a work in progress (and also my first etude). Sorry about the recording quality, I'm still trying to figure out how to get the best results with the limited equipment that I have.
The biggest problem I'm having is starting out too loud. If I start out softer I cant seem to bring out the melody, and when I start out how I normally would, I get tired by the end.
Am I on the right track??
Sorry about the sloppy parts btw, recording is a lot more difficult than I thought it was. Also, I have no idea what happened to the last few seconds
Any feedback would be great! Thanks

How would you go by putting the fingers for the 12th - 13th bars and 40th - 41st bars, especially for the last 8th beat of 12 and 40?
For 12 I use RH: 1 3 5 and LH: 5 2 1
For 13 I use RH: 1 2 5 and LH: 5 2 1
For both 40 and 41 I use RH: 1 2 5 and LH: 5 3 1
