xx Should I start this piece?

I love the fourth movement of Debussy's Suite Bergamasque (Passepied), but I'm not that advanced a performer. I'd say I'm around level 5 or 6 out of 9 (CPE Bach's Solfeggieto level). The thing is, I found the sheet music on a web page that classified it as level 5/9, but it sounds far more difficult. Those of you who know it, what do you think? Are my ears tricking me, or should I leave this piece for later?

xx Passepied
February 25, 2006, 10:02:01 PM by lisztener

HI!

I have some issues about learning to play passepied correctly with my (actually) right hand! In the chord section when you play staccato, I just get tired very quickly. I'm trying to hit the keys with some amount of force, but immediately after that I try  to relax. Is this a bad strategy? I mean afterall, it passes very fast, and you need to make the keys sound...
What am I supposed to do? I've started to practice more than earlier (2 h minimum/day).. Could that be it? I really don't know.   Funny thing is that I don't have any problems with playing the left hand..  I've practiced passepied for about a week, and the left hand is working good...   (I'm lefthanded, might that be the reason)

However..   Hope that you know what's best to do...
take care! /lisztener

xx help with Debussy's Passepied
January 18, 2006, 01:00:38 AM by ryan2189

Hello, I searched for help but did not find any so:
I am having trouble with the wide quadruplets for the left hand in the first 30 measures or so. It is not exactly that I cannopt play them correctly, but their accuracy is sort of up in the air. This is mainly becuase they are so wide. Currently I play the first four LH with this fingering.

5 2 1 3 , 5 3 1 3 , 5 2 1 2 , 5 2 1 2

Maybe it is just a matter of time, but is there and alternative to make these quadruplets and the stretch easier? Thanks
