Preparation for rach's 32 12 prelude June 03, 2008, 12:02:26 PM by hansscherff

I've tackled a few of the easier rach pieces now, however i seem to have a few holes to play the 32 - 12 prelude properly. I particularly like this prelude because of its mood. Since i dont have a teacher i was wondering if you guys have some preparatory advice to tackle this prelude. Some pieces that are slightly easier and might just help me to get the rach piece down properly. Preferrably a piece with a similar mood offcourse, but that might be too much to ask
thanks in advance,
Hans

Rachmaninoff Prelude Op. 32, No. 12 in G-sharp minor June 27, 2006, 06:48:54 AM by jlh

Seems that Rachmaninoff preludes are pretty popular now...
Here's my contribution to the Rachmaninoff Prelude rage. Hope you like!
Edit: I have included another of my recordings of this Prelude. The first one is from my 2005 senior recital, and the second one is from the undergraduate honor recital 2 years earlier in 2003. Which do you like better? What did I do best in each recording? What could be better in each? Did the piece improve in your perception over this 2 year span?
I personally have already answered these questions for myself, but I would really like to hear what you all think as well.
Thanks!
Josh
