| Ok, since I feel tickled and challenged by Pianistimo since weeks I now can't resist anymore. I want to post also a totally unprepared recording. A piece I did honestly not practise for months and I played without any warmup today a few minutes ago. Sorry for the complete mess ;D lol |
| yes. i think beethoven was mixing and matching here. look how you can put it together different ways: |
Listening to the Andras Schiff lecture on Beethoven 109, he notes that although the Sonatas were sketched and composed at the same time, Beethoven chose not to give them the same opus number, as he had with op.2 or op.31, or op.27. Schiff never really offers a reason for this. Does anyone here have any interesting ideas? I ruled out the answer that they were too dissimilar for the same opus number, because the sonatas in op.31 are hardly similar, and the only thing linking those in op.27 is "quasi una fantasia."

What are the greatest recordings of the following Beethoven sonatas in your opinion.
Pathetique
no. 17 "Der Sturm"
Moonlight
No. 30
I havel listened to Brendelīs and Schabelīs recordings but I find them a bit overrated.

Hello all,
I have been learning this Presstisimo movement of Beethovens Sonata 30 Opus 109 for about 2 weeks now and have got around the notes fairly well. (By the way, I completed grade 8 about a year and a half ago and have stopped having a teacher and now teach myself as a hobby and learn new pieces regularly).
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice concerning the fast passages of 2 lots of triplets. I can play the notes, its just the articulation and the way it sounds is quite poor. Should I be using pedal in these passages?
Thank you for any advice you can give me! |
| hope you enjoy it. comments are most welcome!:) 2nd and 3rd movements are posted below. |
