Student's Corner: Tension In La Campanella by jamie_liszt
I have been relearning La campanella over the past few weeks. I am up to the end and I am having difficulty playing without tension in the arms with the fast octaves(mainly where the main theme comes back in with the fast octaves in the right hand). Anyone who has played this piece, how did you get past that? I am trying Hanon (part 3) wrist exercises with thirds, sixths and octaves, It helps a bit but I'm still no Yundi Li.

How does Yundi Li play those octaves so damn fast? there must be a way.

Student's Corner: La Campanella by lisztener
Hi!
I love this piece and it is my dream to be able to play it fluently :)

I also want to know how long you had been playing piano before you even started playing La Campanella.
And when I said "mastered" the piece I mean playing it with great technique and making it sound as wonderful as the piece really is.    :)

Enjoy life  :-*
