I was blown away today while covering the Eb Major Sonata K.282. I just started lessons with a new instructor and we covered so many aspects of phrasing, voicing and the control of weight, distance, and speed in a person's physical piano playing. I am very excited but also very nervous about what is going to happen in the future. Mozart was described by my teacher as being simple to a non-observer, but really musically sophistocated. Now I know what he is talking about. Does anyone have anything to add to this? I think it wil help me greatly in understanding this topic even more.

hi,
i'm new here in this forum. I thing it's a great forum where you can learn very much.
I'm from holland so sorry if the english is not always correct.
But i'm playing things as pathetique 3t movement. Some of mozarts sonata's such as
k331 en k279 k 280. And i don't know what to play now. I love sonatas of beethoven. But i know that waldstein or appassionata is to difficult.
i'm curious what you guys are playing and what you liked the most.

A mozart sonata you can try is K 282, and a Beethoven sonata you can give a go to is Op.79, or op.2 nº1

I liked Riga's and Ariel's versions, and got inspired to post my own interpretation as a sort of third alternative!:-)
Any comments appreciated!
My idea is that it should be quite slow - it's adagio, rarely used by Mozart - and rather "serious" from a juvenile perspective; he was 17 at the time, wasn't he?
Also, as Riga points out somewhere, I think an "operatic" approach is very useful as a way to make the phrases come alive, but not sure if I succed very well with that.
