Yes, it's the one everybody played for their ABRSM G8.
In D major.
I apologise for the muffled sound - I was trying to get rid of background sound by putting it under a quilt, but it sounds a bit horrible.
I played it two years ago for my G8, but just thought I'd have a play of it. So I might polish it so that I can play it with a contrasting D minor slow sonata for my dipLCM.
If you know of any nice slow Scarlatti D minor sonatas, please let me know.

Did anybody listen to this sonata? I play it and i want to know your opinion about this piece of music concerning its musicality, not its difficulty.
Is it a good example of baroque keyboard music or it is just a series of descending arpeggios ? I don't know but sometimes i get the feeling it is just a technical exercise for the RH fast descending arpeggios.
I know it is not as fascinating as K.27 or K.46 or K.466 but I want to know if this piece can be performed someday or I better keep it for warming up.

Hi,
I had a problem in the fingering of some passage in Scarlatti's K.535 D major sonata (that of grade 8 ABRSM syllabus). Find it in the image below. This RH D major descending arpeggio.

This part is intended to be played fast (Allegro). I don't know which fingering to choose, i am confused between either [b]4 2 1 2[/b] or [b]3 2 1 2[/b] or [b]2 1 3 2[/b], but i definitely won't choose the one indicated in the score that starts with 5. I think it is hard to play the notes right (F# D A F#) like this with the pinky and the thumb playing on black keys. It will be lazy and with little action which is needed in Scaralatti sonatas.
What do you think ?? |

Ok, the descending arpeggios in this piece, how would you play these? The music I have spreads them across two hands, but this seems flawed in that you have to cut the bass notes short.
Iv been playing them with this fingering so far:
Bar 5 - RH 421 421 421 LH 125
Bar 6 - RH 532 532 532 LH 152 or RH 421 421 421 LH 152
Any pointers on playing these, as Im finding this is really holding back my progress with this piece.
