Scriabin Op. 11 Prelude No. 14 in e flat minor-own recording February 21, 2011, 07:27:20 PM by utterlysneaky
|
Hi folks! I'm new to these forums, 30years old advanced amateur(or something akin to that), been playing classical piano for 16 years, my favorite composers are Scriabin and Chopin. Here's my take on this mindblowing Scriabin prelude, requires a lot of concentration to keep going at speed, and the 15/8ths rythm is more or less grotesque, well at least if you play it slowly it is..I have played and loved this piece(amongst others, of course) for 6 years now, it's a prelude I never tire get tired of. Would appreciate any comments and suggestions for improvement. Instrument : Yamaha Clavinova CLP-280 Digital Piano Recording : Home version, 21.2.2011 Soundcard : M-audio Fast Track Pro, software : Pro Tools-M Normalisation and slight reverb was added using Audacity.

Scriabin playing his Preludes, Op. 11, nos. 13 & 14 September 06, 2006, 10:19:43 PM by pianolist

In connection with a Scriabin topic in the Performance section of PianoStreet, I said I would upload an mp3 of Scriabin playing two of his Op. 11 Preludes. They were recorded on to music roll in February 1910 in Moscow, and transferred to audio by means of a Steinway Welte-Mignon grand in London last April.
The acoustic is fairly dry, but the music room which houses the Steinway is if anything slightly larger than the room in which Scriabin originally recorded, if one can make a wild guess from the photograph that survives.
The original topic is at:

"All of my students are members of Pianostreet and many of my teacher colleagues have joined as well.
It is an excellent resource for students and teachers alike and there is very rarely any need to visit another website or music store in search of sheet music."

"I was in Poland the past summer to give 2 concerts. At the last minute they requested some Chopin, which I had not brought with me. So, I google-searched for classical downloads and found your site. I was able to print out excellent editions of the pieces I needed within minutes. To find the scores locally would have been inpossible as it was a smaller town, the nearest music store 45 minutes away."
Robert York, pianist

"Piano Street has been a wonderful tool to me as both a pianist and a piano teacher. I can browse the collection for pieces I want to play and/or have my students play. The difficulty rating system that Piano Street uses enables me to search by difficulty level for pieces at my students' various playing levels. It is helpful that many of the scores include an audio clip of the piece being played. I have recommended to my advanced students that they also join Piano Street since getting sheet music from there is a much less expensive alternative to ordering and paying for the music.
