Robert Schumann - Studies after Caprices by Paganini

Like Liszt, Schumann was entranced and fascinated by the Italian violinist Niccolò Paganini’s virtuosity; these transcriptions of some of Paganini’s Caprices were written already in 1832, six years before Liszt’s Etudes for Transcendental Technique.
Unlike the Op. 10 Concert Etudes, these pieces are intended for pedagogical use rather than for public performance.
