Bach Invention 8 (2p)
« on: August 04, 2005, 09:21:59 AM »

Hellos again...

I need help identifying the motives in this piece.  There seems to be four motives: the opening, the turn-like pattern, the ascending thirds and the alternating notes.  Is that correct?  Also, some fingerings for the first two lines would be appreciated.

Thanks.

"Canon is used to open this well-known piece {...} This canon is strict at the lower octave until the second beat of measure 8, during which it becomes momentarily free, and then it continues for the better part of three more measures, at the seventh (lower ninth), concluding after the first beat of 11, just before the cadence at 11-12, which brings section one to  a close."

I have contacted you privately.
