Leonhard Euler (4/15/1707 - 9/18/1783) Swiss mathematician wrote "Tentamen novae
theoriae musicae" ca. 1739 as an attempt to combine mathematics and music. He is the Euler of the Euler equations frequently used in computational fluid dynamics. (Which incidentally, might be used to simulate vibrating strings in air.) His works comprise some 70 vols. So, if you know something about this book, please expound.
Regards,
Jim
P.S. He is too far back in history to have been influenced by the 20th century avant-garde
movement; he's an authenic scientific producer and was roughly contemporaneous with J.S. Bach (1685-1750).
