Hi! I'm an italian piano student, I'm 16 years old and I'm new here! My English is quite horrible, so excuse me! I would like to post some recordings by me! There are three studies op.10 by Chopin and the Impromptu op.90 n.2 in e flat by Schubert! I hope you like it (the quality is quite low, I'm sorry!)

Damn.
I am suprised you are letting us listen to these recordings for free, they are better than some professionals I have recordings of.
I am 15, and I suck. Can you tell me some of the things you did to make your fingers move that quickly, accurately, and smoothly, i.e. excercises, previous pieces?
How long did it take you to learn those pieces?

Opus 10, No. 4.
Your recording is faster than that of Horowitz and other famous recordings. I'll leave it to other people to decide how you have acheived the result.
Having said that, and drawing no conclusions about your method of recording, I would like to see you maximize other things, such as dynamics, accents, etc.

You're playing a digital piano, yes? If so, it's an intriguing digital recording.

Ehm... first of all, i would like to thanks all of you who listened my recordings! I tried to apply the advices and i'm very happy of the result! So, thanks again! For my tecnique i used Cortot's "Principi razionali della tecnica pianistica". It's a very useful book, but you need a good teacher who shows you how to use it! Well, thanks to all for the compliments and i wait for other comments!

Congratulations Marco, you are a very talented young man. Your playing of these Etudes is technically superior and more musical than that of some famous pianists.

BRAVO!!!! I will be able to say I heard of you before you were famous... Tell us please; are these difficult for you? Because it seems as if you're tossing them off as if they were nothing at all... you are very gifted and I'm sure your teacher is very proud of you!

What?
I get it F#, you think they're MIDI files; it's not clean enough for that, there's something human going on. Marco, you should post something on an acoustic piano; they sound better and we would like to hear what you sound like on a real piano. I think they're real, I could be wrong but....

hmm honestly, it is ridiculous to assume the 10-4 is a genuine recording. Comparing the 10-12 to the 10-4, erm, anyone can deffo say the revolutionary is legit and the 10-4 is midi ****, Ive played them both and the n12 shows your real tech, you simply can't play 10-4 like that if you play 10-12 like this (im not saying it's bad).
keep up the work anyway

Why i must play the 12 as the 4? I wanted to interpretate the 12 in that way, and the 4 in that other way. Stop. I felt the 4 more technical than 12. Why do you want to say that i'm lying?

well Im not talking about the way you wanted the 12 to sound, Im talking about the way you accomplished your idea of how it was supposed to sound. but ok.

congratulations! ur very talented and on ur way to success. but sorry to say that i don't believe in ur op. 10-4. you must have been working on your digital piano for so long that you been so used to it without hearing the differences like overtones, touch, etc. contrary to the acoustic piano. but i wouldn't really wanna think that the eveness in ur op. 10-4 is real, im sorry, really. it can't be that even. i look forward to hearing you live in the future! u have great talent!

Giving critique makes one jealous? Don't make me die laughing. Besides I'm never jealous at one's playing (wierd huh, some ppl can only enjoy, admire and respect playing that is superior to their own's). Let alone I'd be jealous at playing which is similar to how a fax machine works. No offence buddy.

Very impressive! i'm 15 also studying piano - I'm trying Schubert;s Impromptu in a flat op. 142, you tried it? i love the piece..your impromptu in E flat was amazing, its transitional grade 7/8 isnt it? I loved it, and I definitely think it was yours...the interpretation of the dynamics was that original! Loved the ritendando at the end of Schubert's impromptu in E flat, by the way! good luck xx

Good job on everything. You are obviously talented, but the 10/4 is not convincing me of it's authenticity. As an owner of a digital piano, I'm sorry to say you didn't fool me. Take for instance, in 0:16 there is an obvious tempo difference between sections where you probably tried some rubato at a slower tempo and tried to catch a metronome or something. I believe this 10/4 is a slow recording that has been sped up. Am I right?
How many of these recordings are actually real -- and recorded at the tempo shown here?

the 10/4 is fake without a doubt
the giveaway is where you managed to OUTCLASS the andrei gavrilov studio recording: the evenness of the lefthand passagework in the 2nd half of the coda
anyone who's played this piece knows that at speed it's impossible to make the 16th notes in that section sound completely even in terms of both duration and volume. you managed to do that AND play it louder than your right hand.

this is an excellent performance and an even better point for comparison. have a listen to the LH passage that i pointed out. and if you think this is one-off sloppiness in a live situation, i would also recommend the STUDIO RECORDINGS of gavrilov, cziffra, browning, pollini (purportedly spliced together one bar at a time), or Mei-ting Sun's live performance from the chopin competition. Compare each one with the performance posted here. now ask yourself, do ANY of them reach anywhere NEAR the same level of clarity and evenness in that passage?

try hard to be able to distinguish what's real from what's NOT real. obviously, mr89's 10/4 is a fake (for the nth time). omg, please, can't your suppposedly trained ears hear the difference from Titova's? i owned a digital piano for five years until i sold it. i could actually record slow, and then would speed it up. and the notes did sound as insanely even as how mr89's 10/4 did! i should know because i used to do it for fun, not for posting though. i actually believe in the no. 12, although i wouldn't be surprised with whatever. all the best.

Me, being a newbie at the piano compared to everyone here, It's hard to believe that the piece can be played that fast especially by a 16 year old... But that's what I think. Good job anyways.

I have a request. Screw up a couple times on the 10-12, And I'll believe that you really did play those songs And I'll truely be inspired to work harder on my practices.
