help with Debussy's Passepied

Hello, I searched for help but did not find any so:
I am having trouble with the wide quadruplets for the left hand in the first 30 measures or so. It is not exactly that I cannopt play them correctly, but their accuracy is sort of up in the air. This is mainly becuase they are so wide. Currently I play the first four LH with this fingering.
5 2 1 3 , 5 3 1 3 , 5 2 1 2 , 5 2 1 2
Maybe it is just a matter of time, but is there and alternative to make these quadruplets and the stretch easier? Thanks

yeah i think that's the fingering i did when i was playing it, and i do remember having a lot of accuracy issues to begin with, in fact i think i started a thread about it...agh i can't find it!! and it was a good thread
WAIT i've found it!!

just keep playing it slowly and accurately, like playing REALLY slowly if that's what it takes to get the notes right, eventually your fingers will get used to the large leaps- the problem i encountered towards the end of learning this was that because i'd been lazy at the beginning, and in fact the whole way through, my accuracy in the LH was pretty awful and i was really annoyed, so take the time to get it right

I use 5-3-1-3 for nearly all of the LH figurations, because the third finger is the middle of the hand and thus it's a lot easier to be used as a pivot point. Use - your - wrist; rotate it around to lessen finger movement and sooner or later it'll be accurate.

thanks for your replies
I see my left hand getting better and the wrist motion really helps. The only other question I have is whether or not to use the wrist motion with the wide arpeggios, or if I should bring my second finger over the thumb to hit the last note in the arpeggio. That does create sort of a delay so I think that bringing finger 2 over is not the solution.

i wouldn't bother bringing your 2nd finger over because once you get it up to speed it'll probably just cause problems and unnecessary time-consuming movement- just keep working on it and you'll get it!
