I get that too.  The kim thing...
Someone earlier suggested the possibility of attempted hacking here; I've no idea if that possibility is likely to carry any credibility in this instance but, if so, perhaps it's being done surreptitiously by a bunch of people from North Korea. "The kim thing", I mean...

No, it was jus Stevie who was hotlinking to a smiley at kimcat.com in reply #26. The link has now been removed so you should not get the prompt anymore.

Thanks from me, too - and no, I don't get that link any more. Might its past appearances constitute some kind of interference with the forum, in your view?

I have always loved Tim Hofman. He is the greatest pianist ever and his music touches my soul deeply. I especially like the chopin pieces he plays like Polonaise op.53 and Waltz op.64 No.2. Hofman's interpretation of chopin pieces is unbelievable. I think the way he plays them is just the way chopin would have wanted them to be played. I also think it's very cool that he plays with the gloves!

Any more Hofman fans here?

Oh go away! Stop indulging in self praise and get a life. Tell me... can you even tell the difference between C# and Db? If your answer is "yes, what do you think I am, tone deaf?" go to the nearest bridge and jump.

Whatever. You might just be the web master... which I doubt, or you might be "Maestro Timothy von Hofman" himself.. Either way, whichever you are... you are both really stupid. Go do some research and listen to some decent pianists such as Argerich, Zimerman... or in this case, Cindy Elizondo might be an inspriation (atleast she plays without the kitch gloves)... before coming to post on an educated, CLASSICAL MUSIC FORUM!

Stop prostituting incredible music. It makes me sick.

And for heavens sake, stop praising yourself. Your self importance and self pampering and love is revolting.

I really dont think this thread is worth our time. Not mine anyway. Its not even funny. Atleast Elizondo's was. It gave me my comic relief for the day. But this is just sacreligious.

Let it go, everyone. This public-masturbater is spamming the board.

Well, i'm sorry if you don't like his music. I, for instance could well spend hours listening to his exquisite and refreshing interpretation of classical pieces. Well, it seems that the great artists are never understood right away. I think hofman is like Hamelin: he dares to do imaginary performances of old pieces. With the well placed arpeggios, the chopin waltz for example is much better than before. I think more pianists should take the freedom to modify the old scores to create incredible music, like he does.

And lastly, you may well be very good critics but I doubt any of you will become even nearly as successful as he is. World should have more pianists as godly as he.

Post 2 I see, but I'm afriad you're wrong.  Tim Von lameman is perfectly understood, he's just incredibly bad.  There is a time and a place for pianists like Tim Hofman.  I've yet to discover the place, but the time is never.

Indeed - as in the old, well-worn but still not unapplicable joke about the person who is ostensibly making an appointment on the phone with another person but who says "no, Thursday's no good to me - how about never? - is never good for you?"...

LOOK!:

Quote
Thank you for the excellent music you provided for us...it added a personal touch and ambiance that conveyed the warmth and hospitality we sought. CWK/Ocean City

Upon listening to your "SERENADE" CD, I am very impressed with your musical talent. I have added your CD to my classical collection and will derive a great deal of listening enjoyment from it in the future. MC/MD

You have been given an extraordinary gift from above - your unique talent combined with these beautiful melodies has touched my soul. LH/Ocean City

Adding to the enjoyment of our dinner...was the wonderful music, the seemingly effortless performing style, of Mr. Timothy Hofman. We were so impressed with his beautiful renditions of the great classics that we could not leave until we had one of his CDs with us! JS/DE

I'm hooked! I can't imagine Christmas without hearing the enchanting holiday tunes as performed by Tim Hofman. His collections are the PERFECT accompaniment to the holiday spirit. CP/MD

We listened to "SERENADE - Dream of Love" CD all the way home to New Jersey. We thoroughly enjoyed it - the music was very soothing and your renditions of so many of our favorites was spell-binding! JR/NJ

I listen to SERENADE as I work and the times simply flies by - I find myself being swept away by the haunting beauty of these timeless classics. You have a fan for life! LP/Berlin

I have spent my entire life surrounded by musicians and I have seldom seen one that had the ability to capture an audience like you can. You have a rare talent! CM/MD

I have listened to your recording several times since returning home and I find it ever so relaxing and enjoyable, particularly in times of stress. Thank you. JJK/Baltimore

His piano arrangements of "pop" music are OK
His piano arrangements of "classical" music sound like sh*t.
His name is a joke (Von Hofman)

Tim's favorites draw from the varying styles of Classical, Jazz and Rock music. Some of his favorite artists are Oscar Peterson, Frederic Chopin, Keith Emerson, Art Tatum, and film composer John Williams, and many more.

I DONT BELIEVE THIS AT ALL
