do you think its crazy for a 14 year old to play his 32 Variations in C-min?
Ive been working really hard and am in love with the piece, but I dont want to attempt and find it to hard.

I played it at 14, but badly.

Right notes (mainly) but without an ounce of feeling.

Your teacher should be able to adivse if you are ready.

what have I played....
Im working on the Scarlatti Sonata in f min, k239
and Motzart Rondo in D MAJ
and Chopin Fantasie Impromto
and Consolation no. 3 by List
and the Girl with Flaxen Hair by Dubussy.

Im a little more Romantic, and I love the piece, so I dont think feeling would be a problem.

It is a fair/large step up from what you have been doing, but why not give it a go.

What is the worst that can happen?

Screw up the piece, and being never able to play it again the rest of your life without playing it crap?

As I am not familiar with the piece I can't say if you are able to play it or not, but if it's too difficult wait a few months/years.

it is a step up, but most of the pieces are a step down from my normal playing level-  My teacher and I have been working on technique for a few months, playing pretty basic music. The speed wouldnt be a huge issue (my fingers move pretty quickly for my years of playing) its just the kind of different techniques and stretches that might bug me.

pull it off with exceptional technique and you're good to go for whatever other piece your heart desires.

That is a danger if you lack tenacity.

I screwed it up and did not play it until 25 years later.
