Midi tutor...

Does anyone use a "midi tutor."    I may not be using the proper term - I'm talking about one of those devices that have a floppy drive and you can play along with.   Roland refers to them as a "sequencer."    Here is a link to what I'm talking about - https://www.zzounds.com/item--ROLMT90SM

I was just wondering if these are considered useful.   I am also wondering if there is anything to keep in mind about them - like maybe the use of a proprietary format that would force you to buy materials from a particular supplier.

Any help would be appreciated.
