Rachmaninoff, Prelude Op. 32, No. 9 in A

The
Prelude
Op. 32, No. 9 was composed and completed by Rachmaninoff on August 26, 1910. The right hand melody in this piece often occurs in snipets, but there are two other levels of writing as well, e.g., accompaniment also within the right hand, and the left hand accompaniment. Thus, the texture of the piece is very thick, typical of Rachmaninoff's idiom in many of his pieces. As to a "program", the piece makes me think of a 19th century ship under sail laboring through heavy seas with gale winds and driving rain.

That's a horribly out-of-tune piano, isn't it?:-)
Apart from that the playing sounds quite nice!

Hi daniloperusina,
There must be a shorter version of your on-line name!
Thanks for your kind words on my playing. I appreciate that.

Hi,
Thought I'd bring back one more of the Op. 32 Preludes for newer members. Please don't be put off by the comment on tuning. Yes, the piano could have been in better form, but I think this recording is very listenable. I hope you enjoy it. Comments welcome as usual. Thanks.
