Well, whoever it was should not have done so. I know the source of that MIDI and it was made with good reason in the absence of a live performance, but if you can appreciate the piece without even having heard a live performance (and that MIDI has no dynamic inflections or other nuances), I consider myself flattered! It was written for Hamelin who's yet to play it but Ullén might do it at some point.

Best,

Alistair

I'm sorry, but I noticed that this post has apparently been dismissed. Has no one experienced the complete and utter bliss that is a nice, beautiful, naturally grown/prepared steak? I am no carnivore, and it little meat, but even I make exceptions. . . (The wine, I'm sure, will come w/ time - I have not established a taste for drink yet - can't stand the stuff).

Preferably Aberdeen Angus.  Does anyone raise them anymore?

We do black angus here.  .  .  .

erm- i'm eating annie's white cheddar bunnies all-natural snack crackers .  .  .  . well, that's what the box says. I think of them more fondly as "those yummy little bites of bliss that make my hand so cheesy and disgusting that i am forced to type with only mt right hand"  Roll Eyes

Mmm - I am beginning to regret that I ate the bunnies ( Tongue), for my mother is making homemade tortellini with Italian sausage. She made a batch of her tomato sauce today as well, and is canning, canning, canning away!

(I wish that I had not been banished from the kitchen when she's cooking, but, quite regretably, I have been instructed to "do homework," and am (lucky me!) allowed to do dishes! . . . The last time she let me cook anything I burned her garlic bread to a crisp. . . . I guess it's for the best, as I either sit there staring, trying to learn her little "secrets" that never really "click" in my brain, or I simply munch on all of her fabulous concoctions to make sure that they are "done." At least this way the family can eat non-charcoal food, and I will do so in the correct proportions).

Red Bull.  Game on.  Let's see what this stuff does.

Tastes a lot like candy actually.  Yes, it has caffeine.  I hope it has enough.  I'm starting to feel it now....Ah.....

Hmmm... I don't know about Red Bull.   Initially it was a buzz.  Relaxing actually because I didn't have to try to be more focused.  That was nice.  Then I drank a second one.  Fine.  That buzz felt a little burnt.  I think it's just the vitamin B and caffeine that does it.  But it was not quite as unpleasant as chugging coffee.  Smoother in the effect.  I was going to ask where to get more.  Maybe I will.  Cheap energy drinks.

However... It's been... an hour, forty minutes, and I'm yawning.  A high followed by the fall.  Which is what I was expecting.  But I was productive there.

Oh well.  I now working on my third Red Bull.

It can't really be a solution.  I'm sure I'll pay tomorrow for it.  It's that kind of burn feel.  Not having to try to concentrate is very nice.  Relieving actually, which makes it relaxing.  But this isn't a great solution.  It's probably abusing the body, just cheating in the short term, feeling it even more in the long term.  I can't imagine drinking this stuff everyday.  Who knows how much vitamin B there is and how much caffeine there is in this stuff.  I also feel hotter.

But I'm getting some stuff done.  And tomorrow I can slack off some.  Two more days and it's the weekend and I can slack off even more. Smiley

Red Bull... it puts Bob to sleep.  I don't think I'll buy this stuff again.  I get sleepy an hour after drinking the stuff.

Is there any cheaper energy drinks though?  I'm still up for trying them, although I have an idea about how useful they are.

I have to say, this is one of the most yummy meals I have ever come up with and I am particularly proud of it, so I just have to post about it here :

Freshly made lentil salad
(Lentils soaked over night and then lightly boiled for and hour and a half -- freshly cut carrot and parsley, walnuts, dried cranberries, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt)

A quarter of hass avocado
A hard boiled brown egg
A dollop of homemade hummus with roasted garlic
half an ezikiel wheat pita bread

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmm

Radishes. Lots and lots of radishes.

Going on a bit of a binge, as I was watering the garden this morning and realized that we have about a million ripe radishes in it!

Mmmm. . . .

I ate breakfast before, rather, and said what I had just eaten.  Don't eat literally at the computer.
