beethoven op.10 no.2 3rd movement
« on: December 07, 2006, 12:13:10 AM »

Hello everyone,

I recently performed this fun movement, but unfortunately it didn't go very well.  I was wondering if anyone here has played this piece with success, and if that person could share how he/she practiced it to get it to a good standard.  It seems to be a pretty rarely played piece, so maybe not that many people have played it, but any help at all would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks,

Joe

I never played that myself but I think if you were more specific about what difficulties you are facing, you would get more help...

for starters take those certain parts u are not fond of and practice them thoroughly. Although this piece is played fast. You should do slow practice with the parts that are hard
and gradually increase the speed to how you normally play it. My teacher once told me that Beethoven wrote this sonata to make it sound like an orchestra is playing it.
i know epsecially the left hand in the exposition and recapitulation are tough to even out the trill. so practise the trill together with the left hand slowly to smooth things out.
that helped me a lot.
otherwise hope this advice helped but i do agree with the person who posted previously before me that you need to be more specific on what you have problems with.
