Next Schubert Piece
« on: January 08, 2007, 07:45:41 PM »

I recently mastered Schubert's Impromptu Opus 142, #2 and really loved it.  I've listened to his other Impromptus and am trying to decide which on to work on next.  The 142 #2, is probably the easiest, most approchable of them all (right?).  Which one would be a good next one to work on.  Thanks.

Have you considered Impromptu Op. 90 No. 3?  It's probably one of the most likable pieces of music out there..  I certainly had a lot of fun learning it.

Does it have to be an impromptu? why not tackle a sonata - the 'little' amaj is gorgeous.
There's always the 300 odd dance sets he wrote.
The 3 pieces d946 are impromptu's as well although on quite a large scale.

Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.
