this is for those who say people my age shouldn't couldn't can't or won't play fast. (although it is digitally enhanced 200% - but that is a moot point).

oddly, i just went down to rest for a bit and john candy's 'cool runnings' is on. this bobsled team he's trying to put together in jamaica. the first thing he tells them is where they will be on the bobsled. 'second middle man' is the assignement for the first guy. this movie is really too funny.

that wasn't a week. that was 20 minutes tonight.
the jamaican teams bobsled went haywire on the last turn and lost a ski. it flipped over and they skidded on their heads for the rest of the turn -- ending a few hundred yards from the finish line. they had to carry the bobsled the rest of the way. this is too much. i'm just sort of enjoying it anyways.
so true to life - much of this movie. first they try to imitate the swiss team by hitting each other really hard on the head. but, they're too stiff. so they loosen up finally by making up their own start routine. also, the scene where they are disqualified and then put back in is kinda like piano competitions (and the very thin line) - knowing people - begging for another chance (not that i've been there yet). having an amazing run. being in the final race. losing.

just you wait. i'll show you that women can play fast and even. and, at times unfairly. but, that's life. this time - there will be no digitally enhanced performance. it will be my own awesome speed combined with amazing thirds - which - if i must explain my technique - can only come from practicing them for six months straight. but, to impress you all - i will hone them in one week.
i can also trill really well with the fourth and fifth fingers (at l east i used to) for variation #4.
i challenge anyone to beat my time at the end of the week. i mean, anyone who is not yet an artist and performing regularly. for instance, koji is eliminated from this speed competition. but, i am challenging opus10no2 specifically.

Good luck to you, you are gonna need it.
Practising thirds for 6 months will probably result in tendonitis.
You can obviously play the piano, but if i were you, i would leave this piece alone.

you will not hear from me until friday night. There is even less chance of that happening than you beating Comme. Thal

What precisely is this challenge?
I do not wish to learn this particular piece, as you have put me off it.
How about just the right hand alone of Chopin's op25no6?
Playing it right hand alone will lie bare in all nakedness your 3rds technique.

Great to see some action going on! No doubt this has the potential to become the most legendary piano duel since Liszt vs. Thalberg... In support, I'll bet five cziffros on your winning, pianistimo!! (exchange rate, anybody?) From what I hear, it'll be David vs. GoliathXXL, but I always sympathize with people doing crazy stunts! My soccer club is losing all the time, but still they're the best guys on earth. I think you'll play really well if you don't post your playing immediately after 20 minutes of practice. So, all my best wishes to a fair competition (no hands of god!!)...

see. there you go! i have a fan. even if i am on the losing side. you never know. just like that jamaican bobsled team in 'cool runnings.'
and, who knows - the 'hand of Jesus' could very well help me - when i'm about to make a big blunder. agreed about not posting after 20 minutes. it's my hairbrained competitiveness. i could have been killed many times already from doing this with pingpong when younger.
but, i'll have you know - that in one week's time - things ARE possible. that is - if i get some practice time.
about the chopin op 25 #6 - you've played that before, right? so that's no fair. you play that - i play the op 10 #4.
