What do people knwo about this celebrated female pianist b1893.. I know Faure, Saintsaens, Albeniz all favoured her playing and she was a student of Alfred Cortot in paris, she also knew Ravel well, as well as Rubinstein and Enescu as well as many others. She is famed for having developed the 'Tagliferro technique' which im told involves the use of the elbow extensively. Any infromation regarding this technique and style of playing would be greatly appreciated as would any anecdotes and rememberances of her and her playing.

She is wonderfull, and one of the most prominent Brazilian pianists and teachers.
She had a lot of character, style, and rhythmic energy, and her Spanish stuff IMO, is equal to none.
I love her Schumann fis moll Sonata.
Be carefull with judgement though--a lot of her recordings were made when she was pretty old and out of shape.
Still, when she was "ON", she was marvelous.

HI, i am brazilian, and i know just a few about Tagliaferro. Here in Brazil all the pianists have much respect to her and we always have some kind of homenage to her.

I recommend u check out his recording of Falla's Spanish Dance. He even made two modifications in the original score that Falla himself approved :]
