Disneychmaninov

I just heard from a friend that Rachmaninov used to work for the Disney company for a while, and that he composed some cartoon movie music for them. As interesting as I found this, my friend also told me something even more remarkable... Up here in Sweden, we have this selection of famous Disney pieces that we get every year on 3 pm on Christmas eve, it has been running for some 25 years or so now and is watched by about 80% of the population every year. Anyway, these snippets from Disney movies are tied together, as it were, by a cartoon presenter and with Mickey Mouse (!) playing the piano, and at one point between two numbers, there is an amazing piano solo (with amazingly funny pictures to it of course!), and this friend of mine said that this piano part was recorded to a certain S. Rachmaninov! Anyone heard of this??
Hmm... can't wait 'till Christmas...

I heard of that story, too, and it's actually quite interisting - but I don't know of any CD with Disneychmaninov music..they should release one, shouldn't they?
I saw that Christmas cartoon special (or however it's called) a few years ago, and remember thinking while one of the pieces was played by Mickey 'jeeze, that sounds like Rach' - if that's what it is, I can't wait to see the sheetmusic; it would be fun to perform...
However, I can't help you out with a recording or the sheetmusic, but if I'll find that piece one day I'll tell you how to get it.
Regards

hehe, 'Absolute Disneychmaninov I', that'd be wicked, innit??!
No, seriously, that would be extremely cool to have the sheetmusic, I'll make sure I catch it on VCR this Christmas, then we make a transcript of the Rach solo!!!

That'd be cool - but, if you're really gonna do that, you need to send me a copy of the sheetmuisic..I'm really desperate (hope that's the right vocab) to play that solo.
Maybe we'll be able to buy such a CD one day (maybe not only pieces by Rach, but Disney film music is mostly pretty good, isn't it? Good enough to put it on a record, I suppose)
