I have a question about Rachmaninoff's Prelude in B Flat, Op. 23 Nr. 2.
The question regards measure 25. All musical logic leads me to believe the A4 in the middle of the second beat should be flatted. All other As in the measure are flatted.
I assume it's just a typo in my edition, or perhaps even an error on Rachmananoff's part, but I thought I'd mention it here to see what others and their editions have to say.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious the A should be flatted. I can tend to be a bit of an obsessive perfectionist with this sort of stuff, so just wanted to get a second opinion (it comforts me, lol).
Indeed, it would sound very strange if well established octave pattern would get broken with one stupid overlooked A natural .
Since we are on printing errors, there is one mistake in prelude op3no2, where for some unexplainable reason most Western editions in m.6 L.H. 2nd beat have D natural
It should be D# octave.
Best, M

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and then beat on their territory.
