whose operation?  who's doing the operating?  there's only as much hope as the doctor's skill.  that's all there is to it.  much like 'can you create tone.'  yes.  you can create good tone if you have a good piano.  just like you need to check the doctors credentials.  but, of course, there are prayers of faith, too - which may help to guide the doctor's hands.

Pianistimo,  it was my operation actually.  I needed to have a tumor removed.  I did these recordings after having confirmed the date being in late April.  I thought of posting these before the procedure, but never got around to it.  It's been a little over a week now since the procedure and I'm feeling much better.

dear quantum,  i'm so glad you're on the other side of it now!  i hope that they got the entire tumor and that it doesn't return.  you are a very special and kind person, too.  and knowledgeable.  i think the fear of operations is worse than being operated on.  my husband had to have an operation once on his rotator cuff and i found it hard to breathe while he was being operated on.  i would keep looking out the window at anything that was alive (like the tree outside) and think how amazing things were that were alive.  even the tree.

doctors, on the other hand, don't know you from anybody (that's why it's good to bring family or friend). the more people outside pacing the hallways - the better, imo.  puts more pressure on them.  they know they can't botch the job.

my aunt's husband went in for a routine operation on his lower esophagus (valve) and they accidentally poked his spleen and had to remove it.  that caused a whole series of bad stuff to happen to him and now he can't get a fever over 100 degrees or it might kill him.  (not sure how this all relates to the spleen - but whatever!)

hope you are feeling much much better!  susan

ps is anybody taking care of you?  if not - ask the hospital if they have any volunteers who bring meals, etc.  it's worth asking sometimes.

Ok I am listening to all of them now. Right now I am at no. 3 It is taking me away to a land that is so far but though so close ...It is taking me away to something I know so well...They are all great of course, it is playing on a very high level, the capricious and idiosyncratic no 4 as well as No 2. I guess you are also somebody who likes the extremes Smiley

My favorites are definitely No 1 and 3 These have an effect on me like only some of Mayla's so far here on the forum. Maybe it's the C7 Cheesy? Really, this is great and I am glad that I listened, that was indeed a very positive and touching element for me today. Smiley
