"Despair"

It has an improv feel to it, although it was written out in it's entirety.

Thanks for listening.

Very good as always, John. This highly evocative expansion of a descending chromatic scale figure contains some very poignant moments and harmonies, one or two of which remain with me long after the event. You are very skilled at striking the delicate balance of interesting form while avoiding the twin pitfalls of jelly-mould predictability and equally uninteresting incoherence. It is something I can learn from.

Awesome..I really liked it. You have some awesome chord changes. Would you say you're influenced by Rachmaninov? Sounds kinda like him in parts. It does have an improv feel to it. very good!

Thanks for listening Ted & Derek! I appreciate your comments.

I definitely was influenced by Rachmaninoff.

On my first piano lesson, my teacher played me Rach’s Prelude in C# Minor (Bells of Moscow). That piece of music moved me so much that I’ve been hooked on music ever since.

Several other people have told me they hear Rachmaninoff creeping in my music.

Best, John
