Looking for good Master Classes

OK. I know a lot of you out there are still students, so you already have access to good coaches and performing opportunities. But I have been looking for good master classes - ones that focus on adult learning, and performance issues. Trust me , it is different after you are out of school, trying to work in practice after work and between all the other "after work" stuff. Plus the opportunities to perform go away. There is also no interaction with other musicians on a regular basis, so I am looking for good classes. I am willing to travel a bit, best to keep it in the US or Canada unless it's a whole week or something. Anybody know of some?

actually if u want to travel to manhattan, juilliard offers an evening division thats open to anybody who wants to register for a price...it offers some incredible stuff, like a class with david dubal (brilliant guy who wrote some well known books like t...etc.) called the art of the piano. he brings in famous guest pianists, discusses their performances, plays recordings from the golden age of piano playing and studies different artists in comparative performance....a great find. i believe you can also sit in on various master classes in juilliard if u want to, but only if u are enrolled for something. if u want to enroll, call up juilliard, ask for the evening division and they'll send u a brochure, but hurry up cause it begins soon. you can also join some classes in the mannes school of music (affiliated with the new school) extention division. they offer master classes, chamber groups, music history classes, etc. I believe the manhattan school of music also has similar classes, as does the third street music school. and uh, my own teacher also gives good master classes frequently. hope this helps

WoW! I checked out the Julliard site and it makes me wish I lived on the east coast! A bit far from Portland for one-nighters, but I woudl try to take in one of their special sessions when I was back there.
When I see stuff like that I realize there isn't much going on out here in Portland.

If you are willing to travel to the UK, there is, in August each (?) year a very good summer school for advanced pianists in Oxford. It is called the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival or something. Try looking it up on the internet, I am sure you would find it using a decent search-engine. (I know they have a very informative home-page)...
