Essentially, to increase popularity in pianism as a sport, this has to become a regular event.

Of course this example is quite useless, but it gives a way for anyone - even those without an appreciation for the music - to get into , and appreciate, the technical skill of a pianist.

Would you watch a TV show dedicated to proper etude time trial duels?

I know I would, what a fascinating idea.

i enjoyed his performance.  it didn't seem like he was that concerned about the time.

i never wear a watch.  don't want to be measured by time in music.  i don't think time matters.  music is beyond time.  the moment you set a watch to a piece of music - you may as well say a prayer for it and bury it.

but, of course - i don't doubt you can give people an astonishing etude with musicality and speed.  concertos aren't really etudes and therefore - there might be some places one needs to just slow down and act natural.

*secretly i want to set the rules for this speed show and beep the horn before people are done.  like one note before the ending.

It sounds when the audience disapproval reaches 50%.
