Essentially, to increase popularity in pianism as a sport, this has to become a regular event.

Of course this example is quite useless, but it gives a way for anyone - even those without an appreciation for the music - to get into , and appreciate, the technical skill of a pianist.

Would you watch a TV show dedicated to proper etude time trial duels?

I know I would, what a fascinating idea.

i enjoyed his performance.  it didn't seem like he was that concerned about the time. 

i never wear a watch.  don't want to be measured by time in music.  i don't think time matters.  music is beyond time.  the moment you set a watch to a piece of music - you may as well say a prayer for it and bury it. 

but, of course - i don't doubt you can give people an astonishing etude with musicality and speed.  concertos aren't really etudes and therefore - there might be some places one needs to just slow down and act natural. 

*secretly i want to set the rules for this speed show and beep the horn before people are done.  like one note before the ending.
