ornamentation

Does anyone have any suggestions on books that address ornamentation. I've seen the Alfred's book of that title but was not impressed. I struggle with how to interpret certain ornaments, particularly trills (ie do you start on the written note or above). Any help would be appreciated.

There's a great - and quite substantial - book on it by CPE Bach. I believe Charles Rosen has written one too. I've not personally read the latter, but they're both widely recommended.

Sorry - I wish I knew how to post musical examples -
What about the minuet in G - in Bach?
There's a nice place to start - how do you play that?
I would start it on the note.
