Who does this guy think he is? (Including Horowitz diss)

This guy dissed Horowitz for the HR2 ending. Saying 'EVERYONE BUT ME FAKED THE ENDING'
he thinks he is the true messiah of the piano world.
What do you think about this? And WHERE exactly did Horowitz faked in the ending of the piece?
(If Horowitz had to faked it, he wouldn't make the mid-passage 20 times harder. O also, he said Horowitz was a senior citizen when he performed this, as a matter of fact, Horowitz was 49.)
and what with this LEVEL 10 stupdity?
Does Horowitz need a scale for his playing too?
God this pisses me off.

what
this following vid made me so mad, i can see straight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF5Jx7GgoTE
He dissed Juilliard (probably because he was rejceted), and then said he is doing what 'schubert and chopin were doing hundreds of years ago.'
and these, are his compositions:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSBgoC8-L2g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ws-83CUF2M
yea, i can totally see the multilayer voicing playgout and how the theme develops fugue-like in these pieces of crap.

What an idiot. a) the passage is not that hard if your octave tech is remotely decent, just alternate octaves b) the idea that Horowitz, Cziffra etc fake the passage by playing the octaves together ... hmm.. wonder how Cziffra did the Bumblebee
I suppose everyone fakes the ending of the Mephisto Waltz too?

Do I hear unwarranted claims?
"that the conductors at Carnegie Hall fake it"
"the highest level of technique is in the end of the HR2"
Two separate channels of autopilot? I don't know... I think playing the octaves syncopated is harder than playing them together...
"Beethoven wouldn't let any of the on the stage."
and my favorites (I can't decide which I like better"...
"that Chinese pianist cheats just as the Chinese athletes at the Olympics"
"hillbilly education...I mean, higher education"
Ho.

Well, I agree with him on the "education" aspect of his speech. There is definately a serious problem in todays schools teaching Crumb and Cage over Bach Mozart and Brahms. Unfortunately, there are too many holes in the way he articulates himself in that you can see he is not highly educated in music history and common performance practices.
As far as Horowitz and Lang Lang thing go, what a joke. I think He's just trying to get attention.
I must say the conductor references is probably the farthest from the truth. I know a conductor of a major orchestra here in the States and it is brutal. The amount of repertoire they are expected to know and get through in a year is 50x what people had to know back in 1850. Remember the full body of orchestral literature we know today took over 250 years to develop. Not to mention all the advances in orchestration by people like Ravel, Stravinsky and Ligeti. Balancing these timbres and textures along with tempo and volume with a 50+ person orchestra takes SERIOUS skill-regardless.
(especially when your on a 1 week deadline to learn and rehearse a full symphonic work.)

Perhaps it's the highest level of technique he has ever played, looking at the way he plays I would frankly not be surprised.

I guess everybody needs an angle. Too bad he has to get attention by attacking others, and his superiors at that. I mean he doesn't even play that passage particularly well. Who is interviewing him? Is this some kind of self-produced publicity DVD?
And why does this piece in particular attract wannabe hardcore punks with stud bracelets?

Dear fellows:
Interesting to notice that Mr. I-am-the-best's videos show nothing about music: his technique is just above mediocre, and his compositions make me think that he just used some computer to randomize a bunch of traditional works. By the way, his comments about the coda make me think seriously that he don't know very much about piano playing either.
The other leatherboy at least can play, at least just as some thousand of other pianists. Here the outfit and the weird name enter: how to sell out in this crowded little world of traditional piano playing?
Please... could someone please bring me a Tureck's recording?
Best wishes!

For sure... Haha. I don't think that attire really matters when you're playing. At least not in my mind. All that matters is that you touch people with music. Kastles attire doesn't bother me. His idiocy does. As for Maksim. He doesn't make idiotic claims about being the best pianist ever. And at least he's actually decent.

We forget how extraordinary the great composers of the past were, it is impossible to reach the same hights as Chopin and Liszt did. The composers of today are composers of film music .

Dear Zheer:
Excuse me. I have to disagree with you, although I have to admit that it's unlikely that a pianist-composer of our days would in the future be considered in a high level such as Liszt, for instance.

EDIT: posted a screenshot of my comment- check back there in 30 minutes; it will be gone. Right click and open in a new window to view a high-res version of it. Where you can actually read what it says XP

I'm hardly surprised, considering that the people (if they are in fact different entities) that you are arguing with appear to think that a rather mundane octave passage represents the pinnacle of classical piano technique.
