Beethoven- op.10 no.2

Here's a live performance of this underplayed piece. I welcome all comments and would like to know which beethoven sonata I should play next, given I've played this and the pathetique already. Enjoy!

wow. great job! say, i was wondering - you know about the fifth page in where there is a choice to play octaves or chords...well, right after that there are octaves. do you think beethoven meant for you to fill them in like the other ones? somehow the octaves seem sparse when compared to what came before. just wondering.
i think you must have a good memory to play all this! i liked some things better with the dynamics before the repeat - but others after the repeat. the danger of repeats is probably to please everyone. some want to hear it exactly as it was the first time and - some to hear a slight difference. i did hear the difference and thought that if i wasn't glued to the score - i wouldn't care if it was slightly softer (as an echo). i think it's a musical interpretation (although some of the dynamics didn't seem as layered the second time). no matter. i'm not sure i could keep up with all the rhythms! this is an extremely difficult piece even though it is an early sonata, imo.

I'm not sure which section you are talking about. Can you be a little more specific? Thanks a lot for the kind comments.

I'm working on this sonata now, it's actually my first one. I'm impressed with your playing, perhaps especially your dynamics. Which movement did you find hardest, I mean technically. I have only worked on the third and second so far, but I think the first seems harder than the third, or am I wrong? Anyway, your playing was really good! Was it a big recital?

As far as getting up to speed is concerned, the 3rd was a lot harder for me than the 1st. However, I worked on the interpretation of the 1st with my teacher a lot more than I did with the 3rd. I spent many nights though despondently wondering if I could bring the 3rd movement up to speed before the concert, but it all worked out in the end.
As for the concert, it was about 50 minutes long. I played some scarlatti, chopin, and moszkowski. I posted my recordings of chopin's 3rd ballade and the moszkowski piece a little while back if you want to hear some more. Good luck with this piece and thanks for posting!
