I just watched an amazing documentary about Maria Joao Pires, check it out here:

I'm wondering if anyone here could identify the piece that is played in the introduction of the movie, and also the piece performed by the student 27 mins into the movie -- a very moving piece of music and it sounds like a simple piece (hopefully I can find the sheet music somewhere if I ever figure out who composed it).

I'd greatly appreciate your time and help -- I highly recommend this documentary, watch it now!

Introduction is the second theme of the first movement from Chopin's Sonata no. 3 op. 58 in B minor.

I have no idea what the piece around 27 minutes is, sorry.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent.
