Ever had this happen to you ?

I thought of this when reading through the thread about hilarious remarks from students. I didn't post it there because I didn't want to get off topic. Besides that, I'm not a teacher.
If you've ever seen the movie "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (from around 1989 or 1990 or so), there's a scene where Michelle Pfeifer's character who is a singer crawls & lays seductively across the top of her accompanist's grand piano while singing "Making Whoopee" at a New Year's Eve party. Around that same time I was playing a lunch hour in the food court area at a local mall. Some sweet young gal decided she wanted to try the same thing. I think it was on a dare from her friends - she wanted to see if she could distract me. Of course the piano lid was propped up so she didn't have much room to play around with. Trying to be professional about it, I just smiled and went with it and tried my best to ignore her which only made her try harder. She was literally hanging over the keyboard at one point (way beyond what Ms Pfeifer did) trying to balance herself and I was surprised mall security didn't show up & haul her away (never a cop around when you need one !). Finally she toppled onto the keyboard and I had to catch her to break her fall onto the floor. She kind of ended up in my lap. Of course by this time, most of the lunch crowd was watching and all laughed when she fell off. She turned about 3 shades of red but laughed as well. I helped her up and got a kiss on the cheek for my trouble. I suppose some players wouldn't have tolerated that but it gave me a yuk. I also got some decent tips that day !

Great story
Never happened to me, but I'd certainly enjoy having my playing interrupted in such a way....

I wish....Actually by the time I took a break she & her friends had left. I think they were too embarassed to stick around. I did get a nice view down her blouse though...
I might add that I made quite a few mistakes (more than usual I mean) during that incident. Fortunately, no one was listening !

I almost killed the last girl that tried to climb onto my piano... With her shoes on.... I almost died.

I love that scene! She's hot!
I sort of had it happen, I was playing for a reception for something which I can't remember, and seeing as it's only cabaret stuff, I generally sight read it. However it got terribly dsitracting when all these chicks started walking in - I was not exactly playing well after that!

DMC's experience is nice I had pretty much the opposite happen. At a piano show years and years back I started testing some pianos, a crowd gathered, but there was this really huge man who really smelt bad looking over my shoulder and breathing heavily. I appreciated he liked the music and knew about the piano but every time he breathed.. or spoke... urrg... I started to breath through my mouth cos I couldn't handle it, then I started feeling sick so I held my breath, I couldn't take it no more so I quickly stood up and walked away with a crowd of people wondering, where is he going?

I had a junior high girl student try that. I was playing the piano. One of them decided it would be funny and the group of girls thought it would be funny. I told them not to try it, so of course she went ahead. Except this was an upright piano, chest height, and the girl was not a gymnast. She put her hands up up on the piano and tried to wiggle up on top. She didn't make it. I suppose my laughing didn't help much...
