under house arrest with a piano
«

Burma's detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Ki is getting a piano.
Apparently she is an accomplished pianist (who fancies Bach and Scarlatti) but her old instrument is stuffed.
So a group of Brittish women, including Annie Lennox, are sending her one over. How nice is that?
Having a piano would make house arrest so much more pleasant, wouldn't it?
I wonder what her rep is?

Great stuff indeed! But how long do you suppose it might be before some bright spark gets the idea to record her with Condoleezza Rice in the Brahms Hungarian Dances? (or even Debussy's
En Blanc et Noir
if some people might be capable of overlooking the perceived implicit colour prejudices?!...)...
