Amelia,
First off - nice work so far, it sounds like they're coming along.
As for specific comments...it's hard to make any with the present sound quality. What are you using to record yourself? Presently, you are overloading the mic.
- Andrew
P.S. Have you heard Horowitz play the Rach prelude? It's rly wonderful.

thank you!
i'm currently using an old mp3 and I agree, the sound quality is'nt great. Maybe i'll try using something else to record those and repost.
do you have a recording of Horowitz playing the rach prelude?

i'm not a fan of the horowitz recording
there's quite a few big errors in there (which might be a bit rich coming from me
), but also am i the only one to notice that he adds in extra beats in certain bars? i mean, i'm all for personal expression, but you've at least got to follow the score. my favourite recording is rach's own one (i've become a HUGE rachmaninov fan, he's probably in my top 3 of all time). he manages to use lots of rubato whilst somehow keeping the momentum going throughout, and the effects he achieves are just amazing and inimitable. anyone who hasn't heard it should definitely do so. it would presumably violate all sorts of copyright if i posted up here though, right?

I know there are mistakes.
I have listened to rachmaninoff's recordings before, not of his preludes but of Bach's partitas and Chopin's etudes, my teacher has those.
anyway, i'm going to try reocrding again using something else.
