Nils probably deleted it. Nils, can you please say why you did such a thing? It was all harmless fun.

So Auschwitz was an example of mere "elitism", in your estimation? Well, I suppose that it's as well that we all now know your stance on this. You may not be especially "camp", but abit more "concentration" on things of importance might not come amiss...
Best,
Alistair

I have seen threads that are more questionable in nature to this one that have gone undeleted.
A simple move to the anything but piano forum would have sufficed.

I second that. People reading this forum could have parents/grandparents who died there. It didn't happen that long ago. It would be wise to remember this.

I was of course exaggerating, but the principle is nevertheless true.
You must also remember that this is evidence of it continuing, which is a very serious matter. Remember that very serious matters are to be joked about.

No - everyone matures at
his/her
own rate, not
their
own rate. Some people certainly mature more slowly than others, as you have on many occasions demonstrated to perfection here - and some people's grammatical prowess never even matures at all, it would seem...
Best,
Alistair

Fropm the evidence that you provide here, your appreciation is at least developing in a direction of sorts.
You are someone with more concern to make infantile "points" than to express them well but, unlike you, I have said that in one way or another on a number of previous occasions.
Quote from: leonidas on November 26, 2007, 11:04:08 PM
Feel good about that.
Your attempt at an invitation here falls, like so much else from you, on stony ground, for it is difficult if not impossible to feel anything positive at all about what you write.
I might, if I were interested, suggest to you that you try to get a life, but I suspect that, if you did, you'd only go visit the wrong supermarket looking for one...
Anyway, to return to the thread topic, wasn't it Haydn that wrote the Moonshine thing?...
Best,
Alistair

There is a rumour which characterises musicians as intelligent, cultured, imaginative and sensitive. I'm glad to say that recent posts are going a long way towards dispelling that canard.

Your attempted magnanimity truly knows no bounds! (just as well, really). I wouldn't "resent" anyone for their "perogative" either, but that's almost certainly only because there's no such thing...

Ah - a nicely prepared canard! What a lovely thought! So much lovelier, indeed, than some of what seeks to pass for "intelligent, cultured, imaginative and sensitive" material on threads such as this one. That said, there is also another rumour that characterises at least some musicians as having a very necessary sense of humour...
Best,
Alistair

I apologize for my earlier comment. Leonidas has valuable things to offer and is a lively member of this community, and as my own comment has shown, not everything I come up with is constructive or worthwhile.
My teacher here has now thoroughly, patiently, and clearly explained to me that this logon name is being shared by all the students at the studio who wish to go online for piano things while we are here. Therefore, my comments sort of reflect on all of us.
Besides, we have a couple 12 year olds here who are phenomenal.

I hope I don't have to hit the "Report to Moderator" button to have some feedback from Nils. He has ignored many threads in the PF Website forum before and I would like to know why that thread was deleted.

I want to know why it was deleted, too. So if you have to hit the button, then at least you're not just doing it for yourself. You're doing it for lots of us.

So now i look like i wear a closed case.
Better to look as though you're wearing one than actually being one, methinks.
There are questions, difficult questions and very difficult questions - and then there is the one in your current signature. A tempting way to open an appropriate answer might be "how long do you have?" (except that it's generally thought to be rude to answer a question with another question - and we can't have rudeness on here, now, can we? - oh, no, surely not!), but I think that, were I to try to answer it, I would have to say "I have less than no idea", which might not come across as especially helpful but it would at least be honest.
Best,
Alistair
