Favourite Grieg's PC recording?

It is not easy to play this popular PC well. I like Leif Oves Andnes's rendition. Michaelangeli's recording rocks too.
Which is your favourite recording of Grieg's PC?

I have yet to hear the famous Michelangeli recording (I think he made 2) but I love Lipatti.
Lupu/Previn is very fine and poetic.
I think the Andsnes/Jansons is good but a bit overrated.
There is a recording with Katchen (I can’t remember the conductor) which I turn to when I want excitement. It’s not subtle but it is fun.

I posted this about Lief's recording somewhere on this Forum about a month ago. I didn't even know what Greig was until I heard him play. If you like this concerto YOU MUST HEAR HIM PLAY! Do a search on You tube. The last mvmt especially is unreal!
Good Topic..

Agreed. His Grieg concerto interpretation is one of my favorites, even though it is pretty quick compared to others. There are so many other good recordings out there though, so he is not the end of the road.

I grew up on Cziffra/Vandernoot. It is not one of the best ever but still very good. Nice Phrasing.

Thibaudet! Richter! Horowitz! Rubinstein! Argerich! Cziffra! Serkin! Gould! Pletnev! P.D.Q. Bach! J.S. Bach!
No, really - I prefer the recording of Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

just purchased a copy of the Schumann&Grieg piano concerto played by Zimmerman and the BPO.
I must say that i've never taken a fancy to the grieg piano concerto before and this is the 1st time that i've actually liked it.

Yup,
Zimerman
's recording is one of the best in my opinion, as is Andsnes. The first recording I heard, which was Arrau's if I remember correctly, cause me to sort of dislike the piece. Once I heard Zimerman though, my mind was immediately changed.

Perahia (especialy 2nd & 3rd Movements) is very good. The last movement (sometimes unusualy for Perahia) I found quite exciting.
