Liszt Sonata

Hey all! Been a while since I have been around, hope everyone's holiday season was a good one.  Anyway, I have been out of school for a while, which has given me some great "me" time, and I have started working on the Liszt sonata.  Saying starting working on the sonata actually does not even begin to describe what I did.  I COMPLETELY immersed myself in the piece collecting any recordings possible, reading the wonderful "Liszt Sonata in B minor" book, any analysis of the piece I could find (which weren't many), and really just ANYTHING I could find about the piece of music.  It truly is one of the greatest/most important pieces of music written, given all of the circumstances.  Anyway, does anyone have anything on the piece at all they would be willing to share with me? Only finding 1 good analysis accompanied by a few articles and things really is uncool and I want so much more than what I have.  Anything at all would be so greatly appreciated.  Another question that I have is; Does anyone know of a publishing of the piece with Liszt's own marking/fingerings? Thanks for any help!

Dear Rick,

I believe Henle's urtext contains what fingerings Liszt left behind - it is the case for the scores of Chopin and Beethoven, and I assume it would be likewise for those of Liszt.

I have played this piece for some 25 years now and it never gets old. It is indeed a masterpiece, maybe even, sometimes I think, the greatest thing ever written for piano.

I've always found "analysis" to be too academic to be of any use. Learn it, listen while reading the score, let it speak to you, as it were. It's really quite self-explanatory.
