My teacher recommended that I get either the children's corner suite or the suite bergamasque. I like them both equally, so I am wondering which one will teach me more? Your replies are appreciated. Thanks!

I personally prefer the Children's Corner.  It's some of my favorite Debussy.

I'd go with children's corner too. Lovely and can be very formative if played well.

Jazz is to classical what Mcdonald's is to great restaurants. It's trash and will allways be even if lots of people like it.

Children's corner definitely - I absolutely love Jimbo's lullaby and Dr. Gradus ad parnassum.

both are wonderful sets, very representative of different moments in his life. i'll play children's corner this year. it seems to me that bergamasque is more difficult, so watch that and if it's not a problem, choose the one you love the most!
best!

Go for the Children's Corner first. IMO you should start with "Jimbo's Lullaby".
