Hi all,
I just performed again today for the State Chorus and Ensemble festival, (4/5 rating Smiley ) and I learned yet another fault I have to work on.
How do you practice getting your head together to manage the switch from piano to piano?   I think that because I've been pushing my head towards developing technique etc. (which is working) I'm just not stable enough as of yet to  just go out and perform...idk. It's so frustrating at times. Its  like getting so close after working so hard, but always having an extra inch that I can never overcome...
Any advice?

Swtiching from piano to piano can be difficult.  Wink

Practice.  And practice performing.

Figure out what the hangups are.  Maybe it's only something that happens during performance?  Tightening up breathing muscles might happen during piano but not voice.  It could be a good thing to notice.

Maybe when practicing use the other instrument as a break from what you're working on.  Trade off that way and stay fresh.
