Variations on a Theme (Skijh)

A little while back in my Jazz band class in school, I was relaxing at the piano while my friend played sort of game with me. While he played a sequence of notes, I would have to repeat them from memory. The notes he played were so simple (C,G,D,F,E) with a response (D, C, E, G). The melody was so simple and happy it was almost annoying. But if stuck in our heads, and it became very catchy. And what makes a popular tune, popular is repetition.
So what I decided to do was write a Full Orchestra piece of this melody for my school's Orchestra, and Band to perform with me as the conductor. And I actually do get the class after the spring concert for a week, before I graduate.
We also named the piece out of impulse I guess? We just called it a Skidge, spelled Skijh.
I wanted the piece to be 6 minuetes so I left the extra measures, but so far there's about 4 minuetes so have a listen.
