The Infinity thread?
«
on:

What happened to it?
Why no notice?
What about the rest of the threads that are just for fun?

Nils, did you delete that thread?
Otherwise...
Someone may have gotten into my account and deleted it from my account.
Someone deleted it through the website.
Some type of technical glitch just happened to happen on that thread and it disappeared.

Well, it was spam, so there was plenty reason to delete it. On the forum where I moderate, I get rid of things like that immediately. I was surprised it lasted so long.
Also, a suggestion: Can you include a notice that things are deleted, so as members don't go searching the forums for the topic? Something like the thread move redirects would be nice.

I checked my email notifications. It was removed by Nils.
I think it was as worthy as the two word reminder threads. It pmz and debussy hadn't messed around with it, it would probably still be up.

I didn't see what they did with it. What did they do?
Well, even if they hadn't messed with it, it would still constitute as spam. It doesn't contribute anything useful to the forum and just takes up space.

They deleted it. It was more organized than a lot of the threads on there. I didn't see a problem with it.

Nils deleted it. But only after you two started messing with it. It was around for a long time before that. There are plenty of threads with little value on the Anything But board. That one was no different.

My question was: how did they mess with it? What did they say or post? I am curious.

It was a game thread. You just add one number to the previous one.
1
2
3.. and so on. Simple enough for anyone to do.
The only offensive stuff I saw was what pmz or debussy posted. Puking people and dead animals. But they can still remove just those posts.
There are plenty of less worthwhile threads on the site, including this one.

So to get a thread removed it takes..
two people
posting gross images
posting blocks of text, like a 1000... number
many times
on a thread that is thin in value, but not as valued as a word thread
?
and wait 24 hours.

Yeah, but it wouldn't have happened if you pmz and debussy hadn't messed around with it. I agree with Bob, it wasn't doing any harm...it was just the same as the word threads, but with numbers.

My point is that the thread was already spam before they arrived. They just made a bad sitation already worse. I think all of those spam threads should be done away with.

Well I enjoyed it and thought it was fun. I hope it can be restored. I'm guessing someone didn't want to sort out all the recent posts of 1000..'s and people puking and dead animals and just removed the whole thread. The rules aren't applied consistently regarding pulling threads.

Greetings
Actually Bob lost like over 600 posts. Lol that has got to be the greatest loss of posts in a forum. I don't think even the worst spammers lost that many.

Nah the greatest loss of posts on a forum was when GFF crashed in 2006. All data was lost, and that was like a few million posts.

It was fun, and it was in the Anything But Piano board. There have been much more pointless threads in there that haven't been deleted...
Also...pianostreet isn't about post count...it's about contributions. Some people seem to be inferring that Bob is annoyed about the loss of the thread because of his posts that were lost. I don't think that is the case...I'm sure Bob will say the same.
It was just a nice lighthearted thread...wasn't doing any harm to anyone until misters 'lets spam pointless threads' came along.

I think the moderation here need to be tended to more often. Perhaps that is why so many spam threads go undeleted. Sure, it's light hearted fun, but that doesn't absolve it from being spam.

The fun was seeing how high the thread could go for numbers and that it was a group project that way.

Yeah, and for that reason, I will not digress. The condescending tone of your post isn't really necessary either.

LOL @ retrouvailles trying to act all badass because he... moderates a messageboard!!!11 This is the second time I've witnessed this idiocy, and hopefully the last. "Well in the messageboard
I
moderate, we fart on each other all the time. Let me give you guys some expert advice on how to press the delete button..." Never in my life have I heard someone be so pretentious about something so pathetically stupid.
Oh well, at least debussy is banned. Joyous.
