"Easy" Atonal music

Does anyone know if there are any "easy" (I mean around the "late beginner to 'middle' intermediate skill level) pieces by schoenberg, webern, etc?  

or howabout other modern composers to the likes Ligeti, Harbinson, Boulez - not neccessarily serial or atonal.

I've been enjoying modern music long before I started playing piano (I'm 21, have been playing for ten months) and would like a chance to finally play some and experience it more ...

Schoenberg's six little pieces, op. 19. I have only seen no. 6 in this particular set (he wrote more like these in similar sets) and it is pretty easy but you need to count like crazy and the dynamic markings are key.

There are several. The difficulty in modern repertory is usually not technical, but deciphering the score, and getting used to the idiom.

The Webern variations (and his other unpublished pieces) aren't too hard. Boulez is generally very difficult, but a couple of the Notations should be doable. And some of the Ligeti etudes are fairly easy - try Arc-en-ciel & En Suspens. I wouldn't say that any of this really falls into the beginner category, though, more mid-late intermediate - if any of this seems too hard it might be worth looking at the piano music of composers like Feldman & Cage, which tend to be quite a bit easier. Oh, and there's the "Jatekok" series of beginner pieces by Kurtag.

Andre Previn has a collection of 20 pieces for beginners called "Impressions for Piano" (Warner)

The ABRSM publishes a collection of contemporary pieces especially commissioned for beginners by famous living composers called "Spectrum". Have a look at it on their website:

um this is more late intermediate to early advanced but its worth it to learn it looks 100 times harder then it is except for the middle section which actually is as hard as it looks and thats saying a lot... khatchaturian's tocatta i play it its fun as heck to play all the big runs are patterns and ppl go like HOLY CRAP AAAAH when u play it b/c it looks insanely impossible hehe tell me if u decide to learn it its a great piece

Khatchaturian's Tocatta is hardely atonal! There is a key signature you know.
