Mozart, Variations C-major (Twinkle, Twinkle)
Schubert, Sonata G-major (D.894)
Chopin, Etudes 10/7; 10/8; 25/6
Liszt, Benediction dans la Solitude

I love them all, though finding a decent fingering for the first couple of pages of the Liszt gave me multiple headaches.

Now I'm working on:

Chopin: Ballade in G minor (polishing for competition in mid April)
Bach: Prelude and fugue in G minor from Book one
Handel: Suite no.5
Beethoven: Sonata op.13  Smiley

I'm just finishing these up. After these I'm going to learn my first concerto. I'm still deciding which one. I also get to learn a Bach suite after this prelude and fugue Smiley

Splitting time between five Chopin works:

1) Nocturne in B-flat minor (Op 9 No 1)
2) Mazurka in C-sharp minor (Op 6 No 2)
3) Mazurka in B-minor (Op 30 No 2)
4) Waltz in C-sharp minor (Op 64 No 2)
5) Etude in C (Op 10 No 1)

I can play all of (1), nearly all of (2), about half of (3), 10% of (4), and virtually none of (5).

I'm practicing the etude mainly to work on my right-hand arpeggios.  I don't really anticipate I'll ever be able to play the whole thing at speed.  The others are definitely works I intend to master.
Logged

Works in Progress:

1) Chopin - Nocturne in B-flat minor (Op. 9 No. 1)
2) Chopin - Mazurka in B-minor (Op. 30 No. 2)
3) Chopin - Mazurka in C-sharp minor (Op. 6 No. 2)

I have finished preparing my annual house/salon recital, which I will perform five times, in late March (Florida) and early April (Washington DC).

Liszt - Etude de concert (Sospiro)
           Sonetto del Petrarca no 104
Rachmaninoff -
           Two Preludes - c# and g# minor
           Elegie
           Polichinelle
Scriabin - Nocturne for the left hand
Khachaturian - Toccata
Chopin -
          Waltz op 69/1
           Mazurka op 24/1
           Polonaise in A flat
Then I can start working on something new! I really feel a need to do some Haydn, Mozart and Schubert.
Ned

Hi!!

I started taking piano lessons 6 months ago.. & I played Khachaturian - Toccata!!! I'm gonna performe it in th annual fistival of the fine Arts institute were I study.. Bach Invention No 9

This post made me smile. Somehow seems more reasonable than all the other posts in this topic.

Anyway, I'm working on Beethoven op. 2 no. 1, 1st and 2nd movement, and Bachs 3-part invention in E major. Perhaps I'll start some Prokofiev today.

Hello,

I'm a newbie to piano playing and enjoying it very much. Currently I'm learning Aura Lee (the melody was made into the song "Love Me Tender" sung by Elvis Presley) and several over songs. So far I have taken one lesson and my piano teacher said I did amazing.

At the moment I practice:
