Liszts Les Jeux d'Eaux à la Villa d'Este, my teacher thought I might be ready for this piece but it will be challenge. What grade would it be around and does anyone have free music for it? If not I'll guess I will have to order it in.  And does anyone have the sheet music for Gondoliera. Thanks in advance  Smiley

Greetings my friend!!!!  You are so lucky to have a teacher that wants you to play Liszt.

I have played  Les Jeux d'Eaux à la Villa d'Este, AND have fooled around with Gondoliera intermittenly over the last year.  I bought this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0486256278/qid=1101164695/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/104-1095876-6931917?v=glance&s=books

It has both pieces, as well as everything else- the complete Years of Pilgrimage as well as supplement Venezia e Napoli, 3 apparitions, Lyon, and earlier versions of selected works.

I will tell you now- you will not find a website where you can simply download Fountains of the Villa d"este or Gondoliera for free.  The only way to get it is to order in, or get the pdf from a generous friend over msn or something. (no, I dont have a pdf- just the book)

Order the book!  It's worth it!!!

I have that very book and it is excellent.  I've been learning the Sonetto 123 from Italie and the book contains the earlier version.  The earlier version is so cool and technical, but the new version is more music.  It's great to have so much material in this book and yet it was so cheap.

Not only does the book contain so many pieces, but the Milstein as an editor did an excellent job imo.  Footnotes provide a lot of information on the pieces, variants seen in other editors editions that don't match with the autographs and manuscripts used here.

You can see this at gamingforce, I must confess, but if you really plan to play it you should by the sheets.

there is a Cortot edition to this piece. i found it very useful when i studied this piece. you will find this piece rather easy to memorize, but dont be fooled, it is still difficult to grasp. the trick is, practice carefully, but not too much slow practise.
