These sound a lot like late Scriabin.....good stuff! Very dark---yet Romantic and full of passion.

Hector's Mexican but a fellow Scriabin fanatic. He recently completed a fantastic concerto for Charranga (a type of folk guitar prevalent in Bolivia) and string orchestra. If he doesn't mind, I might post a movement of it so you guys can hear.

I would not have known that the music was not by Scriabin - the composer seems to have assimilated his style remarkably well!

Hector's Mexican, Gabby's I believe Argentinian (Martinez is a very common latino last name).

PS: I'll post a movement from his concerto once I get the cd from Hector.

I like these three preludes a lot, together a homage to Scriabin. It's great to hear listenable contemporary music by a real composer like Martinez, as today it seems that anyone can claim to be a composer, especially if they know nothing of music. Unfortunately there is such a maze of "modern" repertoire, that it's extremely difficult to sort out those works that will be ultimately judged timeless and universal versus, well, trash, of which there is beaucoup. I'll bet that these three preludes will endure. Wonderful pieces, and very beautifully played, koji!
