Messiaen - Regard XIV
on: October 17, 2006, 05:02:56 PM
Regard des Anges

A powerful piece, divided into very different sections, almost like a somewhat absurd rondo. I myself especially enjoy the bird-like passages at the end. Interesting end of the piece as well, with the strange leepoig of the octaves. Always a tricky business to get them right at this point. I think I almost did it this time though, apart from a slip with the thumb at one occassion. Potential Messiaen-nerds are welcome to enjoy the search of the bar which I played wrong...  ;)

I love how you play the first bars.  I hereby declare your recording of XIV to be my favorite.

TYVM! :)
Interesting enough the first bars in this version is one of the parts I feel that i didn´t quite get as I wanted. I prefer the 00:37 version of the same bars.  8)
