The Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition will be held in Los Angeles, California, from June 4 to June 18, 2005.

FIRST STAGE: No longer than 45 minutes
One Rachmaninoff Prelude from Op. 23 or Op. 32
One Rachmaninoff Etude from Op. 33 or Op. 39
One Chopin Etude from Op. 10 or Op. 25
One Classical Sonata by Beethoven (except #19, 20, 25, 29) or one Sonata by Mozart except K. 545, 533/494, 547a)
One transcription by Rachmaninoff
 
SECOND STAGE: No longer than 60 minutes
Rachmaninoff Sonata No. 2 (1st or 2nd Edition)
One Moment Musical from Op. 16 by Rachmaninoff
One work by Rachmaninoff from Op. 3 or Op. 10
One or two compositions among the following composers: Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Franck, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Schubert, Moussorgsky, Scriabin, Stravinsky, Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev
 
FINAL STAGE:
One Rachmaninoff Concerto or the Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini
