It's a wonderful piece. But to be honest I don't like yet so much how you play it, mainly because it seems a bit fresh to you still, am I right? Because I compare to your Kapustin Etude on youtube and that one is excellent!!!. In the Liszt I miss the feeling of "floating", the "flow" and I think melody and accompaniment should be more differentiated from each other.

Thanks.  Yes it is still fresh.  I need to work on my interpretation definitly.  I am trying to learn from Stephen Hough's recording which I feel is far superior to Leslie Howards.

this IS a beautiful piece!  the thing is - i hear the alberti bass part with the rh thumb and second finger too loudly.  i'd like to hear it go into the background - and bring everything that sounds like bells and the ave maria to the foreground.  admittedly, i've never heard the piece before.  sometimes fingering does a person in.  if you use strong fingers on parts that you don't want to sound that loudly - you'll have a hard time quieting it.  if you use more 'crossovers' and use say '2-5' you might have less harsh sounds there - but, i don't know if that fingering works in this case and for this piece.

I'm glad you like it.  Yes, I agree with you.  Working on my touch during that section is necessary.  It is still a work in progress. 

I'm very glad that this piece was introduced to me.  Liszt wrote many gems that are unfortunately not played too often.
