Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition
on: December 03, 2004, 11:20:30 PM
I recently stumbled onto this site:

https://www.bachauer.com/home.asp

...which seems to have an interresting piano competition in 2005. While most piano competitions say, "play this" and "play that", without letting one chose what you want to play, this competition lets the pianist chose everything himself. Which I think is a great idea.

Does anyone know something more about this competition more than what they write on the site? I was wondering how many people that get accepted to the competition, all I know is that they chose 6 finalists later, who play with orchestra. But how many people enter the competition in the first place?
Is it a wellknown competition? How good are people, in general, who play there? If anyone knows more, let me know :)

Is it a wellknown competition?

Yeah, it is.

As anywhere--people are different.
If you mean how well they play, try to google for names of its winners. Also, go to their store and listen to some samples.
